This will be yet another one out of a million blog posts criticising WordPress. If you are a WordPress enjoyer, you’ve been warned.

Last week, I had the pleasure of helping my friend troubleshoot his WordPress website. In the span of 2 days, it reminded me of all the pain and suffering that I once endured when I was developing and maintaining WordPress web applications.

I know that lots of pro-WordPress evangelists will tell you all the good things about WordPress, and I’m here telling you while holding your hand, all these “good” features they’re selling you are actually not features. They’re anti-features i.e., bugs. They bring you more troubles in the long run.

2 years ago, I started a blog that was developed using Hugo (there was only 1 post back then).

Then I thought Hugo is such a hassle since designing the theme was difficult, then I decided to switch to WordPress since there are so many themes available. I thought having WP’s simplicity will make me more motivated to blog. Lo and behold, 2 years I haven’t written any blog post.
